Censor makes exception - permits publication that son of Dr. Baruch
Goldstein is pilot

The Censor's Office explained to IMRA today that they made an exception to
their prohibition on publishing the names of pilots when they allowed
publication that the son of Dr. Baruch Goldstein just completed the air
force pilots' training course. In February 1994 Dr. Baruch Goldstein shot
and killed 29 Islamic worshipers in the Cave of the Patriarchs before being
killed.

The item was broadly covered in Israel.

The Censors Office explained that the policy of not publishing either the
names or photographs of pilots is so that they can claim not be pilots
should they fall behind enemy lines.

The Censor prohibits publication of a photograph of pilot Goldstein or of
his compete first name.
