Israel Space Agency Head Visits CJS

The College of Judea & Samaria (CJS), Israel's next university, welcomed
Dr. Zvi Kaplan, the new Director General of the Israel Space Agency
(ISA), to its campus in Ariel yesterday.

During the visit, Dr. Kaplan received an update by Prof. Zvi Shiller,
Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Dept., and Prof. Shraga Shoval,
Chairman of the Industrial Engineering & Management Dept., on an
ISA-funded project to improve the navigation capabilities and autonomy
of robotic rovers for potential use in space exploration.

Prof. Shiller demonstrated a CJS-built six-wheel robotic rover moving
through a field of rocks and boulders at the College's own version of
NASA/JPL's "Mars Yard".

In addition, Dr. Kaplan also toured several of the school's research
laboratories and met with Prof. David Wolfe, Vice President for Research
& Development.
