Government Eases Travel and Work Permit Restrictions in Judea, Samaria and
the Gaza Strip

IDF Spokesperson 13 November 2005

Due to decisions made by the Political Echelon, in continuation of the IDF's
policy to ease restrictions on the Palestinian population, the following
steps will be taken starting today (13/11/05) in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza
Strip:

Judea and Samaria:

* Authorization for 8,000 Palestinian workers to enter and work in
Israel.

* Authorization for the hiring of 1,000 Palestinian workers in the
Atarot industrial area, north of Jerusalem.

* Authorization for 500 hotel employees to enter and work in east
Jerusalem.

* Authorization for 7,000 merchants to enter and work in Israel.

* Authorization for 1,700 Palestinians who work for international
organizations to enter Israel and the Gaza Strip.

Gaza Strip:

* Authorization for 2,000 Palestinian workers to enter and work in
Israel.

* Authorization for 1,000 merchants to enter and work in Israel.

* Authorization for 200 contractors and Palestinians who work for
international organizations from eastern Jerusalem to enter the Gaza Strip,
subject to a detailed security check.

In addition, 500 Palestinian workers from Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip
are authorized to enter Israel and work in factories which were transferred
into Israel after the implementation of the Disengagement Plan.
