Israel Television: Poor Turnout At Rabin Memorial Rally

Israel Television Channel One's prime time evening news "Mabat" program
featured an article tonight on the poor turnout at the Rabin Memorial Rally
held last night at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv.

The item included views of some mostly empty parts of the area of the rally
and a girl who attended who explained that she came "to hear Aviv Geffen" -
one of the many performers included in the program.

Last night the same channel cited the crowd estimate provided by the rally
organizers - 200,000 - without noting that it was a figure provided by the
rally organizers and without also mentioning the police estimate of 70,000.
