Background: Unclear if Sharon's supporters in Likud will exploit voting
rights

While Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has decided to leave the Likud accompanied
by most of the key Likud MKs who supported his policies, their supporters -
both in the Likud rank-and-file as well as in the Likud Central Committee
retain their voting rights.

It remains unclear if and how these supporters will exploit their voting
rights to help determine who is the Likud's candidate for prime minister
(set by a vote of the rank-and-file) as well as the composition of the
Knesset list (set by the Likud Central Committee).
