Hizbollah Outpost Demolished by IDF Forces

November 22nd, 2005

IDF SPOKESPERSON ANNOUNCEMENT

A Hizbollah outpost located north of the village of Rajar, demolished by
IDF forces during the night

Early this morning, November 22nd, 2005, IDF forces demolished an
outpost used by the Hizbollah terror organization, located north of the
village of Rajar.

In response to Hizbollah's attack on Israel yesterday, which included
the infiltration of Hizbollah terrorists into Israeli territory in order
to kidnap IDF soldiers, and the launching of projectile rockets into
Israeli territory, an IDF engineering squad demolished the outpost,
which played a major role in yesterday's attacks against IDF forces and
Border Police forces in Rajar. Hizbollah's attacks led to the severe
wounding of 2 IDF soldiers, and the light wounding of 11 IDF soldiers
and 2 Border Policemen.

The Hizbollah outpost was built following the departure of IDF forces
from southern Lebanon, at a distance of approximately 20 meters north of
the village of Rajar, and has been used by the terror organization ever
since in order to collect intelligence on IDF activity aimed at
protecting the village of Rajar, and in order to prepare the
infrastructure needed to carry out terror attacks in the entire sector
in general, and in Rajar particularly.

In addition, the outpost served as a launching point for various
activities of Hizbollah terrorists against the Israeli civilians of
Rajar.

The IDF will continue to act with determination in order to maintain the
safety of the citizens of Israel.
