IDF: We only fire artillery when certain fields empty of men and cows

Field artillery commander "Yaniv": "If there is a person or even a cow in
the field we cease fire. Our fire is meant to deter and create public
pressure against the terrorists."

Makor Rishon reporter Avinadav Witcom: The fact that the terrorists are
shooting the Qassams from the heart of the civil population raises questions
about the effectiveness of the IDF response (of shooting at empty fields).

Yaniv: "There is nothing to be done. It would be inhuman to fire into the
population."
