RAMALLAH, March 11, 2006, (WAFA - PLO news agency) - Al-Quds daily newspaper
tackled early Saturday once again the Israeli new plan of disengagement from
the West Bank.
In its editorial entitled ,"There is no Israeli Peace Partner," the
newspaper stated that "once again Israeli Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert
declares, in case of his government winning in the upcoming Israeli
elections, on March 28, that Israel will annex the large colonial blocs in
the West Bank and impose its sovereignty on east Jerusalem, specially the
Old City and its neighbourhoods.
The paper pointed out that it is clear Israel offers the Palestinians two
choices, the first is to accept a settlement through which Israel annexes
vast areas of the West Bank, seizing Jerusalem, and controlling the borders
and water of the whole Palestinian entity, the second choice of fiercely
imposing such a settlement by turning the Apartheid Wall into eventual
Israeli political borders and not abide to any commitments.
"But Israel is in fact ignores two points, the first: the international
legitimacy and the international support to a just solution of the
Palestinian issue, the second that the Palestinian people and Leadership
together with Islamic and national factions would not accept any of the
Israeli two choices," the paper added.
The newspaper concluded that "the international community should move and
call on Israel to recognize the Palestinian people's legitimate rights."
