Ra'anan Gissin: Premature to talk about Hebron - Olmert not sketching the map

Ra'anan Gissin: Premature to talk about Hebron - Olmert not sketching the
map

Aaron Lerner Date: 13 March, 2006

IMRA interviewed Ra'anan Gissin, Foreign Press Adviser in the Prime Minister's
Office, in English, on 13 March, 2006:

IMRA: Since the Hebron Jewish community would be on the wrong side of the
security fence would that mean that, ultimately, under Acting PM's Olmert's
disengagement plan, that they would be removed from that area?

Gissin: Hebron is not on the wrong side of the fence. Don't ask speculative
questions. about something that is not on the agenda of what's going to
happen.

IMRA: So it is possible that the fence will include the area where the
Jewish community and Maarat Hamachpelah are located?

Gissin: Hebron is not on the agenda.

If there will be a second disengagement it will only be after all options
have been exhausted.

Hebron is not on the agenda.

IMRA: Olmert's talking now about this.

Gissin: Aaron, don't bother me too much with speculative questions that
have nothing to do with reality.

IMRA: You are saying that the highlight of all of Olmert's interviews in the
Friday newspapers last week was on a speculative question that has nothing
to do with reality?

Gissin: He didn't say "Hebron". You added that. Don't add things that are
not there. He said exactly what he said.

IMRA: I read him saying that "there will be no Israelis on the other side of
the fence."

Gissin: Who said where the fence is? He didn't say where the fence will be.

Hebron is not on the agenda and was not on the agenda of any of the former
prime ministers.

OK?

IMRA: I have no doubt about Ariel Sharon. He was very clear on this issue.

But I am not talking about Arik Sharon. I am asking about Ehud Olmert.

Gissin: Olmert is not going into details now. He is not sketching the map
and saying exactly which settlements are included. He states a principle.
