Minister Gideon Ezra: Israel should not respond to fire for 10 days
Dr. Aaron Lerner Date: 15 November, 2006

In a live interview broadcast during the afternoon news magazine of Israel
Radio, Environment Minister Gideon Ezra (Kadima) proposed that Israel
declare that it will not respond to Palestinian rocket attacks for a period
of ten days.

"We have tried everything else and it hasn't worked," Ezra explained.

Ezra conceded that it would have been easier to promote the proposal if he
had come out with it before a woman was killed and a man seriously wounded
in Sderot by a rocket today (Ashkelon was also hit by four rockets this
afternoon).

The program anchor did not follow up on Minister Ezra's assertion that
"everything else" had been tried, nor did the anchor ask Ezra what he
proposed Israelis within rocket range do during the proposed 10 day "open
hunting season".
