Israeli soldier shot out of military watchtower by Palestinian fighters

Gaza - ma'an - The Fatah-affiliated Al Aqsa Brigades and the Abu Ali Mustafa
Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of
Palestine (PFLP), announced responsibility for shooting an Israeli soldier.

The brigades claimed that they shot the soldier while he was in a watchtower
at the military post east of Al Bureij refugee camp, in the central Gaza
Strip.

In a joint statement the brigades said that the soldier was directly hit and
was seen falling to the ground.

The brigades stated that Israeli forces arrived at the scene and exchanged
gunfire with the group members who managed to safely return to their base.

The statement also confirmed that the operation is part of the retaliation
for Israeli "aggression against Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza
Strip."
