Ronnie Daniel: IDF won't respond to attacks from Gaza until enough Israelis murdered

[Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA: 6 May: Israel Television Channel Two Military
Correspondent Ronnie Daniel explained on the evening news broadcast that the
IDF is under orders not to take any significant action in the Gaza Strip
until the Palestinians succeed in killing enough Israelis to give the
Israeli Government the green light in world opinion (read: the White House)
to carry out a major operation. Daniel suggested that this was not a proper
approach and that it would be appropriate for the IDF to act to defend
Israelis now rather than wait.]

A 24-year-old Israeli was moderately wounded by shrapnel and a number of
other people were reportedly in shock after a Kassam rocket landed near
Sapir College outside Sderot on Sunday afternoon.
The rocket, marked in Hebrew "Quds" ("Jerusalem" in Arabic), struck a gas
station in Sha'ar Hanegev, and caused damage. The wounded youth was
evacuated to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. The Islamic Jihad claimed
responsibility for the attack.
A total of five Kassams have been fired at Israel since Sunday morning.
Earlier, a security guard aboard a fuel truck was seriously wounded in a
drive-by shooting near the village of Dir Kadis, close to Ramallah.
The guard was hit in the head and the leg, but managed to reach the Na'alin
checkpoint, where Magen David Adom medics administered first aid. He was
then evacuated to the Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer.
Binyamin Police who were sweeping the area for signs of the perpetrators
found shells near the scene, which they suspected had come from the gun used
in the attack.
An offshoot of the Aksa Martyrs Brigades later claimed responsibility for
the shooting. Security forces believe that the same group was responsible
for an attack in the area three weeks ago that wounded four Israelis.
Earlier in the day, Palestinians threw rocks at an Israeli bus near
Kalkilya.
No one was hurt in the incident, but the bus sustained damage.
