Minister Liberman: Deploy a NATO force of 30,000 in Gaza Strip

Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beitenu) called for
the deployment of a NATO force of 30,000 in the Gaza Strip in a live
interview broadcast during today's noon news magazine program.

Liberman explained that other international forces, such as UNIFIL, failed
miserably in their missions and that only a strong NATO force could do the
job.

According to Liberman, the NATO force would not only enforce order within
the Gaza Strip but also address the security concerns of Israel and Egypt
via-a-vis the Gaza Strip.

Liberman noted that the Egyptians had failed to act effectively against
smuggling from Egypt to the Gaza Strip.
