Min. of Ed. Tamir: Nat'l service educators should be pluralistic

In a live interview broadcast on Israel Radio this morning, Minister of
Education Yuli Tamir (Labor) said that girls teaching within the framework
of national service should have a "pluralistic outlook."

Tamir was explaining why the Ministry of Education under her leadership was
slashing the number of teaching positions to be filled by the existing
framework of religious girls serving alternative national service.

Critics of Tamir in the past have noted that in political matters, her
interpretation of "pluralism" is "the right to agree with my political
outlook".
