Telephone poll of a representative sample of 412 adult Israeli Jews carried
out by Teleseker for Maariv on 29 October after Prime Minister Olmert
announced he had operable prostate cancer. Statistical error +/- 4.8
percentage points

What should Olmert do since he found that he has cancer?
Continue as regular 70.2% Take break until heals 18.9% Resign 7.7%

If Olmert resigns, what would you prefer?
New elections 35.5% Livni take his place 26.6% Netanyahu forms government
18.5% Barak forms government 7.6%

Who is most appropriate to serve as prime minister?
29 October: Olmert 11.0% Netanyahu 31.3% Barak 19.3% Other replies 38.4%
