Teleseker poll: Likud 32 Kadima 11, 65%:29% Olmert should resign
Dr. Aaron Lerner 1 February 2008

Teleseker poll of an unknown sample apparently carried out after the
Winograd Report was released the week of 1 February.

In light of everything you have heard about the conclusions of the Winograd
Committee should Olmert resign?
Yes 65% No 29%

Do you count on the IDF?
Yes 80% No 18%

Of the following who is most appropriate to be prime minister?
Olmert 14% Netanyahu 37.5% Barak 19.1% None of them 27.3%
Livni 18.3% Netanyahu 39.1% Barak 18.3% None of them 21%

Who do you this is the most appropriate to head Kadima and be its candidate
for prime minister?
Livni 32.3% Mofaz 18.4% Dichter 8.1% Shitreet 4.1% Olmert 12%

If Olmert doesn't resign in the wake of the Report how should the chairman
of the Labor Party, Ehud Barak, act?
25% Continue serving as defense minister in Olmert Government
24% Continue serving as defense minister in Olmert government while setting
an agreed date for new elections in around a year
12% Demand that the Kadima faction replace Olmert with Livni or another
Kadima candidate as a condition for remaining in the Government
34% Leave the Government and cause new elections

If elections were held today how would you vote (expressed in mandates - no
indication how many were undecided)
Actual Knesset today in [brackets]
32 [12] Likud
11 [29] Kadima
21 [19] Labor
10 [11] Yisrael Beteinu
10 [11] Shas
07 [00] Social Justice (Gaydamak Party)
09 [09] Nat'l Union/NRP
00 [07] Retirees Party
06 [05] Meretz
05 [06] Yahadut Hatorah
09 [10] Arab parties

And if Labor runs with Kadima headed by Livni and Likud runs with Yisrael
Beiteinu headed by Netanyahu?
[The folks at Maariv pushing for the creation of the Labor/Kadima bloc were
smart enough to throw the Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu merger into the equation
since polling data has indicated that a Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu merger would
yield fewer votes than if they run separately (as also shown here).]

38 [23] Likud/Yisrael Beteinu bloc headed by Netanyahu
39 [48] Kadima/Labor bloc headed by Livni
10 [11] Shas
07 [00] Social Justice (Gaydamak Party)
08 [09] Nat'l Union/NRP
00 [07] Retirees Party
04 [05] Meretz
05 [06] Yahadut Hatorah
09 [10] Arab parties

* Kadima/Labor bloc headed by Barak would get 37 seats
