Excerpts: Poll of USA and Europe finds Israel more popular than Palestinians "Middle East tensions" low priority, opposition to force against Iran

Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA: These excerpts from the polls recently released
finds that with the exception of the Turkish and Spanish respondents,
Europeans have a warmer feeling towards Israel than Palestinians. The polls
found that "Easing tensions in the Middle East" was consistently not seen as
a priority. While a plurality in almost every country said that Iran
acquiring nuclear weapons was likely to personally affect them, with the
exception of the USA, only a small portion of respondents believe policy
should be to maintain the option of using military force

Transatlantic Trends 2008 is a project of the German Marshall Fund of the
United States and the Compagnia di San Paolo (Italy) with additional support
from the Luso-American Foundation (Portugal), FundaciĆ³n BBVA (Spain) and the
Tipping Point Foundation (Bulgaria).
