with Hezbollah preventing release of Shalit

Maariv correspondent Ben Caspit reports today that "Senior members of the
Prime Minster's office, including the former PMO Chief of Staff, Dr. Yoram
Turbovitch, maintains that the prisoner swap according to which Samir Kuntar
and additional Lebanese prisoners were released in return for the bodies of
soldiers Eldad Regev and Udi Goldwasser was a "serious mistake", that caused
"strategic damage to Israel" and caused "postponement of the release of
Gilad Shalit, and maybe even prevented his release at this stage."

According to them as a result of the deal with Hezbollah, Hamas raised the
price of Gilad Shalit to impossible heights. "
