Netanyahu sends ballot box to Central Committee member's homes to approve
adding party

Israel Television Channel 2 News reported this evening that the Netanyahu
team is sending ballot boxes to the homes of Central Committee members who
support him so that they can cast their vote to enable another party to join
the Likud before the upcoming elections. The vote was first held at the
same time as the primaries last week, but not enough Central Committee
members voted to approve the proposal. Channel 2 showed a rental car
driving around with a ballot box in its back seat.

The idea behind the move is to incorporate the Tzomet party so as to use the
campaign funds it has in its coffers. The move could also push back Feiglin
and others on the Likud list by adding some Tzomet members to spots ahead of
Feiglin.

Under such an arrangement, the Tzomet representatives on the ticket would
not have to receive the approval or acceptance of the general membership of
the Likud Party.
