Agencies-The new round of Palestinian reconciliation talks due to start in
Cairo today is likely to be "the most difficult," a spokesman for the
Islamist movement Hamas said yesterday.
"This session will be the most difficult taking account of the
inflexibility" witnessed in earlier rounds that blocked progress in the
dialogue, Fawzi Barhum said.
He said the new session of the Egypt-brokered talks is likely to open with a
meeting between representatives of Hamas and from the secular Fatah movement
of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
The two sides have struggled to make any progress in the negotiations which
began in Cairo on March 10, aimed in particular at forming a unified
Palestinian government.
A major block for the unity is the Zionist-American condition on Abbas side,
the two states interfere to foil the dialogue, they said that Hams must
commit to existing agreements and to recognize the Zionist entity, despite
the Zionist entity are not recognize the Palestinians rights.
Hamas added that "Fatah must stick with the Palestinian people choice
"Resistance" or the dialogue will fail."
