Tartous, Syrian Coast, (SANA-Syrian news agency)-International and regional
changes show signs of bright future for Arabs and the region as a whole,
Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban said on Thursday.

"These challenges are in favor of Syrian vision to restore Arab rights,"
Shaaban said in a lecture in Tartous. She reiterated Syria's support to just
and comprehensive peace based on Madrid terms of reference and the
international legitimacy resolutions.

"Syria is committed to its right in the occupied Golan, Arabs' rights in
Jerusalem and the refugees' right to return to their land," Shaaban said.

In her lecture dubbed "Syria's Role in the Regional and International
Changes," delivered in the context of Sheikh Saleh al-Ali Festival, Shaaban
said the international equation has become "clear" and "evident" to the
whole world.

"Resistance in Lebanon in 2006 and in Gaza in 2008-2009 along with Syria's
stance against surrender and abandonment of rights, have changed the
international equation regarding the Zionist entity."

"We start to hear news that leaders of the Zionist entity are now afraid to
travel to Europe. European universities are boycotting the Israeli
universities. International
calls to hold Israel accountable for its crimes started to appear," Shaaban
added.

She noted that Syrian-Turkish relationship has started to change the region
and the equation of the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Shaaban said that this relationship has been "an incentive for rapprochement
on the Arab-Turkish-regional track," adding that if the Arab countries begin
to follow Syria's example in this direction, "this would help complement
that track."
