Jordanian field hospital in Gaza treats 310,000 Palestinians

Gaza, August 28 (Petra - Jordan news agency) -- The Jordanian military field
hospital in the Gaza strip has treated more than 310,000 Palestinians since
its inception in January 2009, according to health officials.

Director of "Gaza 9 Hospital", Dr. Mohammad Shoubaki, said that the clinic,
Gaza 9, which started work last month, had been working around the clock and
received more than 30,000 cases.

He added that Jordanian medics had performed 1,115 minor and major
surgeries, bringing to 9,115, the number of operations performed in the
field clinic since 2009.

"Outpatient clinics diagnose and make radiological and lab examinations for
more than 1,000 Gazans a day," Shoubaki said, noting that the clinic had
established a close relationship with the local community including
hospitals and civil society institutions.

He pledged that the Jordanian field hospital would continue to provide the
Palestinian people with the necessary healthcare to help alleviate their
suffering under a 3-year Israeli blockade.
