Jerusalem Foundation in Syria Raises Money to Establish USD 6 Million

Daraa, Southern Syria, (SANA Syrian news agency)- The International
Jerusalem Foundation in Syria held on Thursday a charity evening in Daraa to
raise money for funding projects in occupied Jerusalem to help the city
steadfast against Israel's practices of Judaization and displacement of
Palestinians.

Deputy Head of the Foundation's Board Imad-Eddin al-Rashid said the
foundation aims to help people of Jerusalem stay in their city and alleviate
their calamitous suffering and hardship through setting up projects in the
key fields of housing, education and health.

"Jerusalem Foundation seeks to preserve the historical and cultural identity
of Jerusalem and expose the Israeli inhumane practices carried out against
the land, people and holy places in the occupied Palestinian territories,"
al-Rashid added during the evening.

For his part, Adnan Abdulaal, Member of the Executive Bureau of the Syrian
Civil Campaign Celebrating Jerusalem as Permanent Capital of Arab Culture,
spoke of Syria's highly valued role in protecting holy places in Jerusalem
and its unlimited support of the occupied city at the level of international
forums and in terms of offering in-kind and financial contributions.

In its plan for 2010, the International Jerusalem Foundation, Syria branch,
seeks to establish projects in Jerusalem valued at USD 6.298 millions in the
fields of housing, education, health and restoration of holy places.
