Shots Fired at IDF Forces Near Gaza Strip Security Fence

Shots were fired toward IDF forces near the security fence of the central
Gaza Strip on Monday evening (Dec. 6). There were no injuries but slight
damage was done to an armored vehicle.

Terrorist operatives often leave explosive devices along the security fence
in attempt to harm IDF soldiers, at times also shooting at IDF personnel
near the fence.

Recently, IDF forces shot toward a number of suspects standing near the
security fence in the northern Gaza Strip, an attempt to stop the suspects
from moving closer after they refused to evacuate the area. The IDF was
forced to shoot toward the suspects' lower bodies. A hit was identified.

According to the Israel Security Agency, in the month of November there was
a slight increase in terrorist attacks with 52 attacks as opposed to
October's 44. This increase in attacks is especially evident in the
Jerusalem area where 10 terrorist attacks (as opposed to last month's six)
took place, while 22 attacks came from the Gaza Strip (as opposed to
October's 18).
