Israel will demolish the Al Aqsa mosque
Jerusalem & Al-Aqsa- The former Jordanian Minister of Awqaf – a well-known
expert on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the city of Jerusalem affairs- Mr. Raef Najm
said that he expects that Israel will manage at the very end to destroy
Najm who was interviewed by Aljazeera channel said that he expects also that
it is more likely that the Israeli occupation will deport the Arab
Jerusalemites from the holy city, if the Arab formal stance remained as it
is appeasing Israel. Najm stressed that what is delaying the Israeli plan is
the support that the Arab Jerusalemites received by their Arab brothers
inside the Green Line area.
He added that the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat ceded the Jewish
Quarter (Al-Sharaf neighborhood) and part of the Armenian Quarter and the
Mount of Olives and the territory of the so called "Talmudic gardens" in
Camp David negotiations.
Najm stressed that the reality on the ground in Jerusalem worse than
revealed by the documents disclosed by Al-Jazeera network as of Sunday,
pointing out that Israel is exploiting the concessions offered by the
Palestinian negotiators to build on and make changes.
Najm authenticated the words of chief negotiator of the PLO, Saeb Erekat, on
the rejection of any role for Jordan in Jerusalem, pointing out that this
has happened in the past.
The expert spoke about Israeli schemes carried out currently, to make large
changes in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He pointed out that Israeli is
executing a plan to build 32 thousand housing unites for settlers in
Jerusalem with a cost of 4.5 billion US Dollars, to be completed by 2020.
