Weekly Commentary: PA adopting Hamas terror already - Shalit to remain
hostage

The details of the Hamas-Fatah PA merger have yet to be finalized but
Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority has already been poisoned by the deal.

Hamas, as a terrorist organization, kidnapped Gilad Shalit and is holding
him for ransom.

And we learned yesterday that the PA, after the Hamas-Fatah merger, will be
no better than Hamas, continuing this ongoing act of terror rather than
ending it.

That’s the stunning news PA negotiator /Senior Fatah official Nabil Sha'ath
shared with me on the phone this Wednesday.

In a conversation in plain English, for attribution (the audio of the
conversation is available on YouTube http://youtu.be/ppziLJTuaCA ), Sha'ath
told me that after reunification the PA would take responsibility for Gilad
Shalit and continue to hold him for ransom.

Sha'ath even went so far as to reject the possibility that the PA might be
more forthcoming than Hamas has been to cut a deal workable for Israel in
order to finally free Shalit.

This is hardly a minor matter.

It turns the PA and its entire security system from a partner to an enemy.
