Announcement of the Coordinator of Government Activities in Territories
Entry of medical equipment donated by the Turkish Red Crescent to Gaza
Today, the 16th of June 2011, the Coordinator of Government Activities in
the Territories (CoGAT), General Eitan Dangot, approved the entry of medical
equipment, donated by the Turkish Red Crescent, for use in Gaza hospitals as
part of the humanitarian work of the organization, which is done on a
regular basis and in full coordination with the respective Coordination and
Liaison channels.
This activity was made possible due to the work of Coordination and Liaison
Administration in Gaza, which organized the entry of the equipment through
Allenby Bridge and Erez crossing.
The CoGAT Spokesperson would like to emphasize that the coordination work
for the entry of said medical equipment for the Gaza hospitals is made as
part of the humanitarian effort towards the civil population in the Gaza
strip. Efforts of this kind are made on a daily basis in all levels and
areas and in the matters of health, education, agriculture and
infrastructure, and in conjunction with leading international authorities
and organizations, whose goal is to send aid to the Gaza population, and
official Turkish authorities, which operate in full coordination and in
adherence to the appropriate procedures.
OTR:The delivery of Turkish aid is coordinated on a daily basis and is not a
result of the medicine crisis in Gaza which is the outcome of an internal
Palestinian health system dispute in Gaza and in which Israel is not
involved.
