JERICHO, February 11, 2014 (WAFA - PLO news agency) – Palestinian officials
Tuesday urged the president of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz,
during a meeting in Jericho to push for tougher sanctions against Israeli
settlements.
Member of the PLO Executive Committee Saeb Erekat, Minister of Tourism Rula
Ma?aya?a, governor of Jericho Majed Fityani, lawmakers Mustafa Barghouti and
Qais Abdul Karim among others discussed with Schulz the latest in the peace
process and political developments in the area.
The Palestinian officials pressed for tougher sanctions against settlements,
which they said consolidate the apartheid system on the ground.
Shultz started Monday a visit to Palestine during which he met with
President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah.
