IDF Acquires Modular Protection Kits For Use In Riots

IDF and the Israel Police Border Guard are currently using riot protection
kits developed and manufactured by the Lior Textile Company. The kits were
developed for use in various combat situations including riots and in the
face of firearm and knife threats, and comply with the most demanding
international standards after having been tested in a certified military
laboratory in a European country.

About 1,000 kits have been acquired recently at the cost of several million
ILS. The kits were recently approved for production and delivery pursuant to
a stringent testing process by the IDF that lasted several months. The kits
are currently undergoing “live tests” owing to the present security
situation in Israel.

One of the options offered by the modular design of the kit is the option of
using it in different combat situations, as it may be adapted and used in
conjunction with bullet and knife proof protective vests supplied by the
same company. The kit includes all of the protective elements for all parts
of the user’s body, as well as purpose-designed flame-resistant coveralls
(providing protection against Molotov cocktails) made from Nomex fabric by
DuPont.

Riot protection gear constitutes an important layer of the personal
protection product range manufactured and supplied by the Lior Textile Works
Company to various security forces, which includes ballistic protection,
CBRN protection and other product lines.
