TEHRAN, Feb. 08 (MNA) – Iran’s FM Spokesperson Jaberi Ansari said on Mon.
the rumor about the presence of two spies among IAEA inspectors in Iran
cannot be confirmed or denied at this stage, but the matter will be pursued.

The remark was made by Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hossein Jabari
Ansari in his weekly press conference on Monday. The issue of the presence
of two spies among the IAEA inspectors who had recently traveled to Iran,
has been raised by one of Iranian parliament members.

“The issue is being pursued by the Ministry of Intelligence, but on the
whole Iran has always been extra sensitive about the potential misuse of
international titles for specific activities and followed up on this
sensitivity with attentive care,” he said.

“If the rumor is true, it will be pursued by specialized sectors, that is
the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the Ministry of Intelligence,” he
added.

In response to Saudi Arabia’s recent announcement of its readiness to send
ground troops to Syria and the US subsequent support of the decision, Jaberi
Ansari said “the crisis in Syria is essentially the result of regional and
international interventions for achieving their own demands and policies;
whatever has intensified the tension cannot be its solution.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is of the opinion that any measures in regard
to crisis-hit countries must be taken in line with protecting these
countries’ national sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence, and
any measure taken without the consent of the governments will only lead to
an escalation of the crisis,” he said.

Jaberi Ansari then referred to the easing of visa insurance for Iranian and
European nationals, saying “relations between Iran and some European
countries in the past few weeks have reached the point where such
facilitations have been put on the governments’ agendas.”

He also announced the upcoming visit of EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica
Mogherini to Tehran, saying “Iran and the EU have agreed to hold bilateral
talks in Tehran and Brussels alternatively, and the meetings will repeat
every six months.”

On the issue of the boycott of Israeli products by a number of European
countries, the Iranian diplomat said “in the past year, due to the continued
occupational policies of the Zionist regime, a humanitarian wave has swept
some European countries on boycotting Israeli products. We deem positive any
measure against the Israeli regime and hope such small acts would lead to
the realization of rights of Palestinian nation and the adoptation of more
explicit policies on denouncing occupation.”
