Are Russian forces preferable to US forces on the Golan?

The Russians don't interfere with the operations of their allies in Syria -
including Hezbullah and Iran.

Then against, we are able to bomb and kill the Russian's allies in Syria
when we have compelling reasons.

Would we enjoy the same degree of freedom of action if Americans were in the
area?

And then there's the question of the consequences of casualties.

If some third party on the Golan kills a Russian that's between the Russians
and that third party.

If an American deployed on the Golan gets killed he will be identified as
having died while protecting Israel.

Its difficult to anticipate how American casualties on the Golan might
impact American-Israeli relations as well as American positions on matters
relating to the region.

If the choice is between Russian and American forces, it could very well be
that we are better of with Russians.
