[Long needed measures to be implemented]PM Netanyahu Holds Telephone Consultation on the Issue of the Temple Mount

Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA
To PM Netanyahu's credit, Israel is responding to this security wake up call
by implementing long needed security measures:
#1. For the first time, Moslems entering the area will be ALSO pass through
metal detectors. Until now only Jews and tourists were checked. Yes -
sounds mind boggling that until now we relied on an "honor system", but
Israel's handling of the Temple Mount has been mind boggling from the moment
that Moshe Dayan handed over the keys to a stunned Waqf leadership
immediately after Israel liberated Jerusalem.
#2. Video cameras are going to be installed outside the Temple Mount that
provide a view of events on the Temple Mount
A reminder: "Now, I am also very pleased to announce today that Prime
Minister Netanyahu has agreed to what I think is an excellent suggestion by
King Abdullah to provide 24-hour video coverage of all sites on the Temple
