Observation: No Free Ride For Mahmoud Abbas - "Unity Government" Must Clear
Out Gaza Weapons

Any serious leader who meets with Mahmoud Abbas this week in New York during
the UN General Assembly should make it crystal clear that if and when the PA
again has authority in the Gaza Strip an immediate task and responsibility
will be to remove and/or destroy the tremendous massive illegal weapons now
deployed there.

This time its different.

Ever since "Oslo" was launched close to a quarter century ago, each time
Israel complained about illegal weapons the response was to deny their
existence.

But in this case Hamas has been anything but secretive about the illegal
weapons - rockets, missiles, etc., that they have imported and/or
manufactured since they came to power. They have parades featuring the
weapons. Their propaganda departments have posted videos detailing their
illegal weapons on various social media platforms.

No. This time a simple bald faced lie denying the violations shouldn't do.

Ironically, the failure of leaders to raise the issue will only serve to
make it harder for the Palestinian leadership to actually honor their
written obligations since the silence of world leaders will be seen as proof
that the world doesn't really expect the Palestinians to comply.
