Weekly Commentary: Palestinians Correct - They Aren't A Priority For Arab
World
Dr. Aaron Lerner 20 September, 2017
77% say the Arab World is too preoccupied with its own concerns, internal
conflicts, and the conflict with Iran and that Palestine is no longer the
Arab’s principal or primary issue or cause.
64% believe that there is an Arab Sunni alliance with Israel against Iran
despite the continued Israeli occupation of Arab land
Poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research
(PSR) in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip between 14-16 September 2017.
The Palestinian street is correct.
They aren't the Arab world's top concern.
And the Arab Sunni alliance with Israel already exists despite the
"occupation".
The Palestinian street recognizes this reality.
Here is hoping that our policies reflect this.
Because the policy ramifications are profound.
Simply put, this strips away pretty much the only remaining compelling
reason for Israel to jeopardize its security in a half-baked "two-state
solution" .
Yes - we may not have as many photo ops and selfies with Arab leaders in the
absence of a "deal" with the Palestinians.
But we'll live with it.
Yes indeed.
Live with it.
