Weekly Commentary: Serious Response To Fire-Kites Only After Israeli Deaths?

Weekly Commentary: Serious Response To Fire-Kites Only After Israeli Deaths?
Dr. Aaron Lerner 13 June, 2018

There have been huge Israeli losses caused by the Gaza fire-kites.

Losses that go beyond lost income to farmers due to burned crops and fire
damage to other property.

Trees planted by the founders of communities have been burned down and
recreational areas will take many years to be restored.

But since, as of this writing, no one has been burned to death as a result
of the fire-kites, the IDF declines to act to stop the fire-kite launchers.

We've been told that the fire-kite launchers operate too far from the line
for a sniper to deter them.

The fire=kite launchers do though make easy targets for armed drones as
fire-kite launching takes considerable time in open space.

Poorly run communities only install a traffic light after a kid gets run
over and killed at the intersection.

We apparently won't stop the fire-kite launchers until someone gets killed.

Mark my words: the day we start attacking fire-kite launchers will be the
last day that Gazan fire-kites cause damage in Israel.

It is unfortunate that it will apparently require an Israeli casualty to get
this to happen.
