Benjamin Netanyahu at the latter’s initiative.

Mr Netanyahu informed the Russian leader on the details of the operation
conducted by the Israeli armed forces along the demarcation line between
Israel and Lebanon.

The President of Russia stressed the importance of ensuring stability in the
region in strict accordance with Resolution 1701 of the UN Security Council
with the UN Interim Force in Lebanon providing coordination.

Speaking about Syria, Vladimir Putin underlined the need for better
Russian-Israeli military cooperation.

In this context, the upcoming dialogue between the experts of the countries’
defence ministries as part of the joint working group was referred to as a
much-needed development.

The leaders agreed to consider holding another personal meeting.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by telephone with Russian President
Vladimir Putin and updated him on the details of Operation Northern Shield
and Israel's continuing intention to foil the tunnels threat.

The two agreed that security delegations from the two countries will meet
soon and that a meeting between the leaders would be coordinated.

Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated Israel's policy to prevent the
establishment of an Iranian presence in Syria and to act against Iranian and
Hezbollah aggression.
