"OH, ALLAH -- DESTROY AMERICA!" COI's Activities in the Shadow of an Ominous
Quote

OH ALLAH, D E S T R O Y A M E R I C A !!!!!!!!!!

"OH, ALLAH -- DESTROY AMERICA!! For she is ruled by Zionist Jews!! Allah
shall take revenge on behalf of his prophet against the colonialist settlers
who are sons of monkeys and pigs!! Forgive us, Mohammad, for the acts of
these sons of monkeys and pigs, who sought to harm your sanctity!!"

(Palestinian Authority Mufti Ikrama Sabri in his weekly Friday prayer sermon
at Al-Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount, as broadcast by Voice of Palestine,
11 July 1997 [COI note: which may be about when the Twin Tower attack was
being hatched].

A LONELY STRUGGLE CONTINUES, WITH HARDLY A GOOD WORD FROM ANYONE

CITIES OF ISRAEL believes everyone must take a proactive role against
terror, if opportunity presents itself. On the governmental level, we
salute President Bush's coalition as it prepares for a crucial struggle.

On the man-on-the-street level, we -- as Israeli working people
volunteering our meager spare time --
continue our lonely 8-year struggle, with hardly a good word from
anyone, against appeasement of terrorists.

We continue to oppose the suicidal land-for-peace policy which has
plagued Israeli officials' attitudes, since 1993, toward the terrorist
Palestine Liberation Organization, its terrorist leader Yasser Arafat,
and the terrorist entity, the Palestinian Authority, established by the
PLO which additionally harbors other terror groups such as the Hamas. We
insist on peace-for-peace as the only rational, safe, just, symmetric
policy for any country -- particularly a small country surrounded by
enemies, with little margin for error.

A report of our recent activities follows:

ACTIVITY REPORT

GALILEE: Assembling volunteers for reserve duty in Yesha communities,
especially volunteers who are over-age hence exempt from army service
except by virtue of volunteerism.

HAIFA: 50 activists spent a weekend at Shavei Shomron, a Northern
Shomron community (8 September).
Solidarity visit in Hebron (13 September).

KFAR SABA, RAANANA: Joint solidarity visit to Hebron (50 activists from
both cities, 20 August).

TEL-AVIV: Vigil opposite French Embassy to protest French Ambassador's
outrageous contention that terror against Israel is "different" (13
September). Placards: ARAFAT = BIN-LADDEN.
FRENCH
AMBASSADOR, GO HOME!!

GIVATAYIM: Fundraising for new educational facility in Nerya, a new,
small Shomron community which recently lost 5 members of a single family
(parents plus 3 small children) in the Sbarro pizzeria terror attack.

REHOVOT: Pro-appeasement activists tried to turn a local
Torah-dedication ceremony in memory of Yizhak Rain into a pro-Oslo media
festival. COI in Rehovot retaliated respectably but forceably: We
attended the event, and politely asked Deputy Defense Minister Dalia
Rabin-Philosoff who was in attendance to contribute toward dedicating
Torahs to each of the 416 (then) victims of the Oslo "land-for-peace"
accords. Rabin-Philosoff angrily rejected our overture. Local
politicians, however, including the Labor Party's own representative on
Rehovot's Municipal Council, contributed gladly (10 September).

JERUSALEM: Vigil opposite the Foreign Ministry to protest the continued
reign of Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, still-unrepentant proponent of
Israel's disastrous appeasement-oriented land-for-peace policy.

BET-SHEMESH: 30 activists spent a weekend in Hebron (14 - 15 September).

"INDICT OSLO CRIMINALS" STICKER CAMPAIGN: Hard work pays. This sticker
campaign, funded by Gamla and foot-soldiered by diligent COI activists
countrywide in their respective neighborhoods, has paid off:
A Maariv-Gallup poll published this week showed 18 plus/minus 4.5
percent support for indicting officials who may have been criminally
negligent during the Oslo period. This is a splendid result for a
low-key near-zero-budget campaign. We are proud of our modest role in
furthering the novel (for Israel) concept that public servants and
elected officials must not be negligent when deciding upon, pursuing and
evaluating risky policies.

CITIES OF ISRAEL is a Pro-Israel Grass-Roots Movement
Working Toward Peace-For-Peace Since 1993.
