Poll: 63% Security Fence Must Include Ariel

The following is IMRA's translation of the summary page of results of a
telephone poll of a representative national sample of 516 adult Israelis
(including Israeli Arabs) carried out by "Brain Base" ["Maagar Mochot"] for
Israel Radio's "Another Matter" program on 12-13 August 2003 (after the
suicide bombings next to Ariel and in Rosh Ha'ayin) as presented on the
website of the radio station. (http://bet.iba.org.il ). A table of results
was not made available.

In light of the fire on Shlomi (IMRA from Lebanon that murdered a boy)
should the IDF take strong action or show restraint:
45% Strong action 41% Restraint

In light of events in the North the IDF should target:
48% Specific Hezbullah targets
23% Include Syrian and Lebanese targets
10% Include Lebanese infrastructure

63% The security fence should include Ariel

On Jews going up on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in the absence of
agreement from the Moslem authority on the Temple Mount:
47% Oppose 40% Support

69% The silence of the political system in the face of the silence of the
Sharon family in police investigations is out of political considerations
rather than the merits of the Sharon family's silence.

70% The cease-fire with the Palestinians - hudna - won't last as long as
originally planned.
