International law requires armies to calculate various factors to determine
if a particular action is appropriate.

But as Avi Issacharoff put it on the "Call Me Back" podcast on Sunday, we
were fairly confident in our intelligence regarding what we would face if we
invaded Gaza. However, after that fateful Saturday, all bets are off.

And since we are clueless, thermobaric weaponry (vacuum bombs) becomes the
legal, profoundly moral, weapon of choice before Israeli forces set foot
into the Gaza Strip.

There are numerous reports, albeit from our enemies, that we are already
using this weapon. I mention this to discuss these bombs without confirming
their possession, and to justify their mention since others are discussing
them.

No matter what catastrophic "tricks" Hamas may have up its sleeve, they
cannot compare to the potential elimination of anyone hiding in "underground
Gaza" awaiting IDF ground forces.

It's the moral choice.

It's the right choice.

And, hand-wringing notwithstanding, it's the same moral choice that the
United States of America has consistently made when facing such dilemmas.
