US Mum On Criticism of Egypt For Closing Rafah Crossing While Slamming Israel Constantly

US Mum On Criticism of Egypt For Closing Rafah Crossing While Slamming
Israel Constantly
Dr. Aaron Lerner 11 May 2024

While Secretary of State Blinken asked Egypt to reopen the Rafah Crossing
last week (see below) the Americans haven't treated Egypt to the same
continuous open pressure and criticism that it subjected its "we have your
back" ally, Israel.

Reopening Rafah Crossing would mean Egypt working in coordination with the
Israeli COGAT which is on the other side of the crossing.

This would be an important step towards establishing COGAT operations in the
Gaza Strip - the only truly workable "day after solution" for the time
being.
